The
publisher Kadokawa announced that the manga Gōmon
Baito-kun no Nichijō (The Daily Life of Part-Time Torturers),
created by Yawora Tsugumi, will have an anime adaptation that will
premiere in winter 2026 (between January and March).
Along with
the news, the first production details were revealed, including a promotional
image, a teaser video and the main voice actors who
will bring to life this peculiar world of work where torture is just another
job.
Main
cast confirmed
These are
the characters and their respective voice actors:
- Shunichi Toki as Zero, the
star employee who gets along with everyone.
- Takuma Terashima as Shiu, a
legend in the world of torture.
- Takuma Nagatsuka as Mikke, a
newcomer full of energy and cuteness.
- Yōhei Azakami as Hugh,
another newcomer, serious and kind, a university student.
The author,
Yawora Tsugumi, also shared a special illustration to celebrate the anime
adaptation.
An
Extraordinary Work Comedy
The story
takes place in a fictional world where torture and murder are legal,
and there are companies dedicated exclusively to these jobs. In this strange
environment, the protagonists work at the Spirytus company, a
firm known for its good treatment of employees and its policy of only torturing
evil people.
Zero and
Shiu, veterans of the trade, welcome new employees Mikke and Hugh, and together
they face the challenges and oddities of everyday work... in a field that no
one would expect.
A manga
with constant growth
The
original work debuted on Hakusensha's Young Animal Web platform
in December 2022. Since then, it has gained popularity for its mix of dark
humor, social criticism, and grotesque aesthetics. The fifth compilation
volume was released on December 26, 2024, and the sixth volume will
be released on June 27, 2025.
The
expectation for its animated version is growing among fans of twisted humor and
unconventional plots.
