Renowned horror manga author Masaaki Nakayama, known for his haunting work PTSD Radio, will return to the pages of Nemuki+ magazine with a new series titled Matsudai no Honoka. The work will be released on August 12, according to the July issue of the magazine, published by theAsahi Shimbun.
This
new action and horror story will feature illustrations
by Ai Saotome and will revolve around Honoka, a
mysterious young woman who protects the weakest, but who hides a dark secret
that could change everything.
Nakayama's
Dark Universe Expands
Known for
his disturbing style and psychological narratives, Nakayama has gained
international notoriety with titles such as PTSD Radio (Kōishō
Radio), which is being published digitally in English by Kodansha
USA Publishing. Now, with Matsudai no Honoka, readers will be
able to immerse themselves in a new universe full of suspense, mystery
and supernatural horror.
Another
supernatural manga joins the magazine
In addition
to Nakayama's announcement, it was revealed that Kōko Shirakawa's novel Hanabishi
Fusai no Taimajō (The Exorcism Notebook of the Hanabishi
Marriage) will be adapted into a manga by Yuika Hoshimi, and
will also debut on August 12 in the same magazine.
The original work was published in September 2022 and has been well received by fans of the genre. It should be noted that Shirakawa is also the author of the novel The Raven of the Inner Palace, which was adapted into an anime in 2022 and is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
Both
releases confirm that Nemuki+ continues to bet heavily on
supernatural and psychological horror stories, consolidating itself as a key
magazine for lovers of dark mystery in manga.
