The
official website of the Kakuriyo anime -Bed & Breakfast for
Spirits- announced the official title for its
long-awaited second season: Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi: Ni.
In Japanese, "Ni" means "two", thus marking the return of
the story after more than seven years since its debut in 2018.
The new
installment of the anime, also known in Spanish as "Kakuriyo:
Hospedaje para Espíritus", is scheduled to premiere in autumn
2025 (between September and December, UTC+2 Spanish time).
A New
Creative Team for a Renewed Spirit World
The
production of the series will be carried out this time by Makaria studios
(known for Dropkick on My Devil!! Apocalypse Day) in conjunction
with GONZO, the studio that animated the first season.
There are
also important changes in the creative team. Although Tomoko Konparu will
repeat as head writer, the new director will be Joe
Yoshizaki (The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows),
replacing Yoshiko Okuda. Yoshizaki commented:
"It's
been seven years since the first season. The seasons have changed, and so has
the equipment. I will strive to create a story that feels close to the hearts
of the characters and that transports viewers back to this mysterious world
between dream and reality."
First
look at the main characters
Along with
the announcement, new visuals of the protagonists were
revealed:
- Aoi Tsubaki (voiced by Nao
Toyama)
- Odanna (voiced by Katsuyuki
Konishi)
- Ginji (voiced by Shunichi
Toki)
These
illustrations show the updated design of the characters that will once again
enchant the audience with their mix of fantasy, romance and Japanese
folklore.
A
history between the spiritual and the romantic
The anime
adapts the light novels written by Midori Yuma and illustrated
by Laruha. Its first season aired between April and September 2018,
totaling 26 episodes. Since then, it has remained a cult work among
lovers of supernatural stories with a romantic touch.
It can be
said that, after the death of her grandfather, Aoi—a girl capable
of seeing spirits called ayakashi—is approached by an ogre who demands the
payment of an old family debt. As a condition, he proposes marriage. Aoi
refuses and instead decides to work at the Tenjin-ya Inn to
pay what he owes.
