Japanese singing and dancing group GENIC has released the music video for their new digital single "Akiramerarenainosa" ("I Can't Give Up") through their official YouTube channel. This song was chosen as the special closing theme of episode 12 of the anime Catch Me at the Ballpark!, broadcast in Japan on the night of June 17, equivalent to the early morning of June 18 (5:00 a.m.) in Spain.
The band
had previously contributed to the series opener, "Hurray!!", cementing
their musical presence in the production, and reaching the hearts of fans.
A video
that inspires you not to give up
The video
clip tells the story of a boy who dreams of becoming a professional baseball
player, facing his own challenges while honoring the feelings of his friends.
The video features professional player Ryosuke Tatsumi, from
the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles team.
Tatsumi has been a fan of GENIC for years, and has used the group's songs as entrance themes at matches since 2023, such as "Flavor," "I'll Be There," and "Maison Genic." About his participation, he commented: "It was a fun recording from start to finish. This story represents my life in baseball: 'I can't give up.' I am glad to have taken on the challenge of acting for the first time, remembering my childhood and adolescence. Next time, I want to sing as the eighth member of GENIC!"
An anime
that goes beyond sports
Based on
the comedy manga by Tatsuro Suga, the anime Catch Me at the
Ballpark! ended with 12 episodes aired between April 2 and
June 18. It can be seen in full on Crunchyroll, including its
final episode titled "Transformative Game/Last Message/It's
Opening Day, Okay?!".
