Since its
inception in 2019, the KAMITSUBAKI CITY UNDER CONSTRUCTION project
has undergone multiple forms: from music videos and board
games to a visual novel. Now, this universe takes a step
further with the premiere of its anime series, which arrives loaded
with mysticism, visual art and a powerful soundtrack.
As part of
its release, the uncredited version of the opening sequence has
been released, accompanied by the track "Utahime", performed
by the group of virtual artists V.W.P., formed by talents from
the KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO collective.
A
high-level artistic production
The anime
is directed by Koudai Kakimoto, known for his work on BanG
Dream!, who is also in charge of the composition of the series. The
character designs are the work of PALOW, a visual artist who
has previously collaborated with projects from the same studio. The animation
production is in charge of the SMDE team.
The
worldview and original script are the responsibility of Souki
Tsukishima, who oversees the project under the creative umbrella of
the SINKA ANIMATION PROJECT.
Anime
Synopsis and Availability
The story
takes place seven years after a global catastrophe that
devastated humanity. From that chaos emerges Kamitsubaki City, a
symbol of scientific progress, but also home to creatures known as Tesseractor,
born from the darkness of the human heart.
Only
the Witchlings, five girls whose songs possess magic, can stand up
to them. With each note, they not only fight to protect peace, but also
to heal a broken world. The series has been available on
Crunchyroll since July 2025 for viewers around the
world.
