The anime platform Disney XD began airing the second season of the Beyblade X anime last Saturday, with new episodes available every week at 1:30 p.m. (Spanish time).

The anime originally premiered in October 2023 in Japan and entered a new plot phase in October 2024. Its global premiere occurred in July 2024, expanding its reach to international.

A new story of overcoming and teamwork

The plot follows Robin Kazami, a young Blader who, after being abandoned by his team after a humiliating defeat, has an unexpected encounter with former champion Jaxon Cross. Together, they decide to form a new team under the alias "Blader X", with the intention of challenging Jaxon's current champion and former partner, Khrome Ryugu.

With the addition of popular influencer Multi Nana-iro, the trio brings to life Team Persona, a group that aspires to turn pro and reach the pinnacle of the competition known as "The X."

A stellar team behind the project

The series has a top-notch creative team: Katsuhito Akiyama, a veteran of the franchise, is listed as general director; Sotsu Terada directs animation at the OLM studio; and Hikaru Muno collaborates on the original concept and scripts alongside Kazuho Hyodo. In addition, Posuka Demizu — known for his work on The Promised Neverland — is responsible for the original character design, adapted for animation by Yoshihiro Nagamori.

A franchise in constant evolution

Beyblade X represents the "fourth generation" of the franchise, succeeding the original 1999 series, Beyblade: Metal Fusion in 2008 and Beyblade Burst in 2015. It was announced by Takara Tomy in March 2023.

The story also has a manga version published since June 2023 in the Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine. The manga was created by Homura Kawamoto (Kakegurui), his brother Hikaru Muno, and Posuka Demizu, and has been licensed by Viz Media.

In addition to the long-awaited anime and manga, the franchise expands with the upcoming release of Beyblade X Evobattle, a video game developed by FuRyu that will arrive on November 13 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
