The
long-awaited anime adaptation of the manga A Star Brighter than the Sun has
revealed a barrage of news. The series, based on the romantic shojo play by
Kazune Kawahara, will premiere in Japan on October 2 on the
Tokyo Broadcasting System.

The
announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, a promotional
illustration and the addition of new cast members:

The opening
theme will be titled Stellar Days and will be performed
by Motohiro Hata, with a sneak peek included in the official

production
The project
is directed by Aya Kobayashi at Studio Kai,
with Yasuhiro Nakanishi overseeing the composition of the
series. The character design is signed by Jinfeng Zeng, while Natsumi
Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai compose the soundtrack. The
original work is published in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine,
and the English version is published by VIZ Media.
What is
anime about?
The plot
follows Sae, a girl who since she was little has been taller and
stronger than her classmates, and Koki, who in her childhood was
shorter and weaker than other boys. Now, in high school, Koki has grown up and
become one of the most popular. Between the two of them the question arises as
to whether their childhood friendship could be reborn and transformed into
something more.
