The
official website of the anime Kaiju No. 8, based on the manga
by Naoya Matsumoto, announced the arrival of three new voice actors
for its second season:
- Yūko Kaida will play Jura
Igarashi, captain of the Second Division.
- Shunsuke Sakuya will voice Shūgo
Ogata, captain of the Fourth Division.
- M.A.O will play Tōko
Kirinomori, the deputy commander of the Fourth Division.

Two Details
The new
season premiered on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks on July
19. In addition, it is streamed globally on X (formerly Twitter), and Crunchyroll offers
it with English subtitles and dubbing.
Previously,
on July 5, the special episode "Hoshina's Day
Off" aired in Japan at 4:00 p.m. in Spain, also
available in simultaneous global broadcast.

Music of
the season
Norwegian
singer Aurora, renowned for her love of anime, performs the opening
theme song "You Can't Run From Yourself." For its
part, the American band OneRepublic returns to give voice to
the ending with "Beautiful Colors", after having
participated in the first season.
Compilation
film and 1st season
The
film Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, which compiles the events of the
first season and includes the original episode "Hoshina's Day
Off," was screened in 32 theaters in Japan from March
28 for three weeks.
The first
season premiered in April 2024 with a total of 12 episodes,
broadcast on TV Tokyo, Crunchyroll and X/Twitter simultaneously
worldwide.
