Distributor Shochiku has
revealed that the anime film L'étoile de Paris en Fleur will
be released in theaters in Japan next Friday, March 13, 2026 (Spanish
local time: March 13 at 05:00 a.m.). This film marks a remarkable collaboration
between director Goro Taniguchi (ONE PIECE FILM: RED)
and legendary designer Katsuya Kondo, recognized for his work
on Kiki's Delivery Service.
Along with
the announcement, a first teaser visual starring Fujiko,
the heroine of this story, was presented. The illustration was made by Kondo
himself, who also participated in the original concept of the film.
Ami Toma will
give voice to the dreamy protagonist
Actress Ami
Toma will play Fujiko. Toma has recently gained popularity
for his role as Meguru Aizawa in the drama Chihayafuru:
Full Circle and for voicing Kokoro Anzai in the
film Lonely Castle in the Mirror. On this occasion, she will be in
charge of giving life to a young woman who dreams of becoming a painter in a
world that does not always seem kind to dreams.
A story
of dreams, friendship and destiny
The plot
centers on two Japanese girls: Fujiko, who longs to be a painter,
and Chizuru, who is passionate about ballet. The two meet by chance
in Yokohama, but fate will reunite them in Paris at the
beginning of the 20th century. There, between lights, art and challenges,
they will join forces not to give up on their dreams.
A luxury
team behind the project
The ARVO
Animation studio will be in charge of animating this work. The
direction is in charge of Goro Taniguchi, with an original idea
shared with Katsuya Kondo. The script is written by Reiko
Yoshida (The Colors Within), while Yu Yamashita (Pompo:
The Cinéphile) is in charge of character design for the animation. The
soundtrack will be composed by Takayuki Hattori (Martian
Successor Nadesico).
