The
official account of Odd Taxi in X (formerly Twitter) confirmed
that the anime based on the RoOT/Route of Odd Taxi manga
by Takeichi Abaraya and Kazuya Konomoto will
receive two compilation films this year. The first film, which
will cover episodes 1-7, will be screened on September 10 and 11,
while the second, which will cover episodes 8-13, will be screened on September
17 and 18 (Spain time).
Limited
screenings and preview
Both films
will be screened in just five theaters in Japan and will serve
to commemorate the release of The Last Blossom on October
10. During the screenings, an exclusive preview of the feature film directed
by Baku Kinoshita and written by Konomoto will
be shown.
Differences
with Odd Taxi: In the Woods
Unlike Odd
Taxi: In the Woods, which reconstructed the episodes of the TV series and
included events after the end of the anime, these new films are recaps of the
original series. The previous film was released in 34 Japanese theaters
in April 2022, peaking at #10 and grossing 52 million yen in its opening
weekend. The distribution was handled by ASMIK Ace and is
currently available on Crunchyroll.
Creative
team and music
Baku
Kinoshita directs The
Last Blossom, with Konomoto in the original script and
concept. The animation production is in charge of CLAP and Michinoku-Toge is
responsible for the concept art. The zero band composes the
music of the film. Kinoshita and Konomoto had already worked together on the
2021 anime.
Odd Taxi

The Odd
Taxi anime premiered in Japan in April 2021 with 13
episodes, aired in the West by Crunchyroll. Additionally, the
live-action series aired in April 2024, and the RoOT/Route

Big Comic Superior website.
