During its
panel at Anime NYC, Netflix revealed an
English-dubbed trailer for the second part of the Sakamoto Days anime,
based on Yuuto Suzuki's manga. The trailer shows the
start of the JCC Exams arc, which officially began with episode 17.
Premiere
and Broadcast Dates
Episode 17
of the anime premiered in Japan on August 11 via Netflix,
while its television broadcast and international release on the platform
arrived on August 14. The second part of the series began airing
on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels on July 14. It
should be noted that, except for episode 12, most of the episodes have had
release differences between television and streaming.
Production
team and music themes
The
direction is in charge of Masaki Watanabe (KADO: The Right
Answer, Bartender) under the animation of TMS
Entertainment. The scripts are supervised by Taku Kishimoto (BLUELOCK, Haikyu!!, Moriarty
the Patriot), while Yō Moriyama is in charge of character
design.
As for the
music, the band Kroi performs the opening "Method", while go!go!vanillas is
in charge of the ending "Dandelion".
A manga
in its final battle
The Sakamoto
Days manga debuted as a one-shot on Jump Giga in
December 2019, and subsequently began serialization in Weekly Shonen
Jump in November 2020. He currently has 23 compilation volumes,
the most recent published on August 4, the date on which his final
battle also began.
The
story of a legendary assassin
The plot
follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary former assassin who decided to
retire after falling in love, getting married and starting a family. He now
leads a seemingly quiet life as a neighborhood store owner, but his past
constantly haunts him.
With humor
and action, the play shows how Sakamoto struggles to protect his loved ones
while facing new threats.
