Episode 9
of the anime Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Cloud will bring a
surprise for fans: voice actress Ayana Taketatsu, recognized for
her role as Nino Nakano in The Quintessential
Quintuplets, will play a Zashiki-warashi, a Japanese spirit
that bestows good fortune.
Unlike
other weekly cases that Professor Cloud must face, this yokai seems to bring
happiness to people. However, when students begin to rely solely on their
"good luck," the situation becomes complicated and Cloud will need to
step in. The series is available through Netflix in Asia,
outside Japan and China, and also in limited territories through the YouTube
channel It's Anime.
A
classic from manga to anime
The
original manga was created by Sho Makura and Takeshi
Okano, and was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen
Jump magazine between August 1993 and May 1999, reaching a total
of 31 compilation volumes. The animated adaptation is directed
by Yasuyuki Oishi at Studio KAI, with Yoshiki
Okusa in charge of series composition, Yuu Yoshiyama in
character design, and Evan Call in music.
Story of
an uncommon teacher
The plot
takes place in the city of Domori, where paranormal phenomena affect the lives
of children. To protect them, a new professor known as Cloud arrives.
Although he is usually friendly and outgoing, he is actually the only psychic
master in Japan and keeps a big secret: his left hand is possessed by a demon.
With this power, he becomes a messenger of justice who fights against the
mysteries of the school, evil spirits and all kinds of supernatural threats.
