The
official website of the anime You and I Are Polar Opposites (Seihantaina
Kimi to Boku), an adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa's manga,
announced the addition of three new voice actors to the cast. They are Yuna
Taniguchi as Watanabe, Konatsu Hirabayashi as Sato,
and Anji Iwata as Yamada.
These
characters are in addition to the previously confirmed protagonists: Sayumi
Suzushiro in the role of Suzuki and Shōgo Sakata as
Tani. The series is scheduled to premiere in January 2026, with
simulcast on Crunchyroll.
Production
Equipment
The
direction is in charge of Takakazu Nagatomo at Lapin
Track. The script is written by Teruko Utsumi (Sarazanmai),
who also serves as an animation producer. Character designs are in the hands
of Mako Miyako, while Naho Kozono (Golden Kamuy)
acts as supporting character designer and chief animation director along
with Sayuri Sakimoto (Orient). The music is provided by
the composer tofubeats.
The art
team includes Chieko Nakamura (Saint Cecilia and Pastor
Lawrence) as art director, Tomoyuki Shiokawa (The
Promised Neverland) as director of photography, and Yuki Akimoto (SHOSHIMIN:
How to Become Ordinary) in charge of color design. In addition, Yuushi
Koshida (My Happy Marriage) leads the 3DCG, Masayuki
Kurosawa (Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez) is in charge of the
editing and Wataru Osakabe (Pompo: The Cinéphile) is in
charge of the 2D design.
A
romantic comedy that conquered readers
The
original manga debuted on Shonen Jump+ in May 2022, following
a one-shot published in January 2021. The work concluded in November 2024 with
a total of eight compilation volumes, the last one being released
on March 4, 2025. To date, the series has more than 1.45 million copies
in circulation.
The story
follows Suzuki, a girl full of energy who always gets carried away
by others, and Tani, a reserved young man who is not afraid to
express what he thinks. The dynamic between the two gives life to a fresh,
realistic romantic comedy full of tenderness.

The manga
obtained a great critical reception, reaching #3 of the 2023 Manga
Taisho Awards and #7 of the 2024 edition. It is also
published in English by Viz Media and MANGA Plus,
expanding its reach to readers around the world.
