The September issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump Mucha magazine announced that Yūya Kanzaki's manga Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi (This Is a City Where Families Disappear) will move to Grand Jump magazine. The change will become effective in the 22nd edition, scheduled for October 15, 2025 (October 16 in Spain).

The manga debuted on Grand Jump Mucha on April 23 and Shueisha confirmed that it will publish the first compilation volume on October 17, 2025 (October 18 in Spain).

A story of horror and suspense

The play presents the story of a seemingly happy family who move into a house on the outskirts. However, the lease includes a disturbing clause: they must do their best to become the ideal family. What begins as a quiet life soon transforms into a dark tale of psychological horror and suspense.

Career of the author Yūya Kanzaki

Kanzaki finished in December 2024 the manga Red List: Keishichōso Tai Sanka PO, serialized since 2021 in Nihonbungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku magazine. The work reached its conclusion with a total of 12 volumes, the last volume of which was published on February 18, 2025.

In 2013, Kanzaki collaborated with Arata Miyatsuki to launch the manga Funōhan (Impossibility Defense) in Grand Jump magazine. This title concluded in 2020, but inspired a live-action film in February 2018 and a four-episode mini-series on dTV in December 2017.

Another of his most outstanding works is Ouroboros - Keisatsu o Sabaku wa Ware ni Ari -, published in 2009, which received a live-action television adaptation in 2015 starring Toma Ikuta and Shun Oguri.

More recently, his manga Change the World: Bloodthirsty Killer from Today is available in English thanks to publishers MediBang and Comikey.
