Kyoto
Animation confirmed
that on October 25, it will announce a new project during its "KyoAni
no Sekai-ten" event, which will be held at the Miyako Messe
convention center in Kyoto. The announcement will take place on the special
Kyoto Animation 2026 New Work Announcement Stage, where part of the cast
and main staff will participate.
An event
with a taste of history
The
presentation is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. JST (01:00 a.m. EDT), and will be the
highlight of an event that will run on October 25 and 26. To warm up, the
company released a promotional video reviewing its productions since 2018, many
of which will be exhibited at the event.
KyoAni's
Present
Currently,
the studio is active with several projects in parallel. CITY The
Animation premiered on July 6 and is streaming exclusively on Amazon
Prime Video. Meanwhile, the film Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: A Lonely
Dragon Wants to be Loved hit Japanese theaters on June 27, and Crunchyroll will
bring it to theaters in the United States on October 20.
What's
coming in 2026
In addition
to the mysterious announcement, Kyoto Animation has Sound! Euphonium:
The Final Movie. The first film of the project, titled Saishū
Gakushō Hibike! Euphonium Zenpen, will be released in spring 2026, marking
the beginning of a final installment that could be divided into two or three
parts.
