Kodansha
Creators' Lab presented
at the Tokyo Game Show a preview of Shingeki no Kyojin
(Attack on Titan) x Roblox, an official mode that seeks to replace the
unauthorized versions of the franchise available on the platform.
The project
was shown between September 25 and 28 as a playable beta, developed
by the independent studio Twin Atlas. According to Kodansha
representatives, this new mode will offer an official experience that replaces
the numerous Shingeki no Kyojin-inspired content created
without a license on Roblox.
The choice
of the responsible studio was made after a contest held at the end of 2024, in
which Bulk Games and Ambr x Moze participated.
Eventually, Twin Atlas was selected as the lead developer of the project.
No
confirmed release date
So
far, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) x Roblox does not
have an official release date. The announcement comes shortly after U.S.
company Gamefam Studios released an official mode based
on My Hero Academia in September, reflecting the growing
interest in bringing anime licenses to Roblox.
With this
move, Kodansha reinforces its strategy of protecting its intellectual
property and offering official experiences within one of the most
popular online video game platforms in the world.
