The anime
world has woken up to unexpected news: Kensho Ono and Kana
Hanazawa, two of the most recognized voice actors in the industry, have
officially confirmed their divorce. The couple, who had been
married since 2020, published a joint statement on their social networks in
which they explained the reasons for their separation.
A
divorce announced on social networks
The
statement, shared on both X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram,
was made with comments disabled, making it clear that it was a purely personal
matter. In the text, Ono and Hanazawa explain that the differences in
their lifestyles and the lack of time together caused them to
gradually distance themselves, until they finally decided to go their separate
ways.
"After
many conversations, we have decided to divorce. It has become difficult to find
time to spend together as a couple and, while we distanced ourselves, we chose
to respect each other and separate," both artists said in the statement.
A
relationship that began in 2017
Kensho Ono
and Kana Hanazawa confirmed their romance in 2017, following a report by Weekly
Bunshun magazine. Three years later, in 2020, the two announced their
marriage, which was widely celebrated by the anime fan community. The news of
their divorce comes just over a year after they shared on social networks what
seemed to be an outing together to play bowling, a memory that is now in the
past.
The
impact on the fan community
Both
Hanazawa and Ono thanked everyone who supported them as a couple over the
years, and asked for understanding in this difficult time. In turn, they
assured that they will continue to strive in their respective careers as
seiyuus, so the separation is not expected to affect their future professional
projects.
