The 41st
issue of Akita Publishing's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine
announced that the SHY manga, written and illustrated by Bukimi
Miki, will enter its "last battle" starting with
the chapter that will be published on September 18. With this, the
work officially begins the stage that will lead to its denouement.
A
journey that reaches its climax
Bukimi
Miki first
published SHY as a one-shot in January 2017, before beginning
its regular serialization in August 2019 in the same magazine. So far, the
series has reached 30 compilation volumes, with volume 31 scheduled
for October 8. In the Western market, Yen Press will release
volume 11 on October 28.
A manga
with an animated adaptation
The work
inspired a television anime premiered in October 2023 in Japan, which was
broadcast in the West by Crunchyroll. The adaptation helped cement
the show's popularity and expand its fan base outside of Japan.
The
beginning of the end
The
announcement of the "last battle" marks a pivotal moment in the
history of SHY, which has been characterized by exploring heroism
from a more human and vulnerable perspective. Although it has not been
specified how long this final arc will last, readers are already anticipating
an outcome full of emotions and action.
