There's
No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless..., also known as WATANARE, will
continue with a new sequel. Production company REMOW confirmed
that the yuri romantic comedy, based on the novels by Teren Mikami,
will have a special release in Japanese theaters under the title There's
No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless... ~Next Shine~.

presented as a limited theatrical release on November 21,
2025. Subsequently, the same content will be broadcast on Japanese television,
allowing more fans to follow the story without having to go to movie theaters.
The
WATANARE phenomenon
Mikami's
play, which mixes college comedy with a yuri romance full of entanglements,
quickly became a cult title among fans of the genre. The anime's first season
drew attention for its light tone and colorful visual style, which allowed it
to gain popularity outside of Japan thanks to streaming platforms.
What is
known about the sequel
REMOW accompanied the announcement with a first trailer and a new promotional image. While no details have yet been given about the plot of Next Shine, it is expected that the story will give direct continuity to the events of the television anime and continue to explore the relationship between its protagonists.
