The
series Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) she
officially announced the production of its third season and a film with an
original story written by the author Natsu Hyuuga. The announcement
was made during the second anniversary of the premiere of the first season,
accompanied by a commemorative video and a new promotional image.
The third
season the anime will be divided into two parts: the first will be
released in october 2026 and the second in april 2027.
For its part, the movie it will debut in Japanese theaters
in december 2026, marking the first film production of the
franchise.
Based on
the light novel series written by Natsu Hyuuga and illustrated
by Touko Shino, the story continues Maomao, a young
apothecary fascinated by poisons, and a Jinshi, an official of the
imperial palace shrouded in mysteries. Together they investigate a series of
cases that affect the court and its inhabitants.
The commemorative video reviews key moments from the previous two seasons, accompanied by musical themes “Hana ni Natte” of Ryokuoushoku Shakai, “Ambivalent” of Uru, “Hyakka Ryouran” of Lila Ikuta and “Kusushiki” of Mrs. GREEN APPLE. It also confirms the holding of special screenings and events in Japan.
The new season will address a natural disaster that threatens the kingdom, the appearance of a mysterious priestess and Jinshi's new duties as imperial prince. The director Akinori Fudesaka he will return to direct the series, after having worked on the second season.
