Kadokawa
confirmed that the Matsurika Kanriden light novel series,
written by Rinne Ishida and illustrated by Izumi,
will have a television anime adaptation. The announcement was accompanied by a
preliminary promotional video, although no further details of the production
were revealed at the moment.
Commemorative
illustrations
After the
announcement, two special illustrations were shared: one made by Izumi,
illustrator of the novels, and another made by Waka Takase,
responsible for the manga adaptation. Both pieces were presented as part of the
celebration for the start of the animated project.
The
original publication began in July 2017, with the most recent
volume, issue 17, distributed on April 15. On the other hand, the
manga was released in Akita Shoten's Monthly Princess magazine
in August 2018. It currently has eleven compilation volumes, while
volume number 12 is scheduled to be released on October 16.
To date,
the series has accumulated more than 2 million copies in circulation,
including digital editions, reflecting its reach within the market.
