The weekend in Japanese cinemas was full of surprises and historical records. In its ninth weekend, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc he accomplished an impressive feat by climbing from fourth position to regain the first place from the box office. This resurgence displaced the compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen, while the franchise of Kimetsu no Yaiba it marked a financial milestone never before seen in the history of Japanese cinema.
The return of Reze and the fall of Jujutsu Kaisen
The film based on Reze's arc sold 217,000 entries and raised more than 337 million yen (approx. 2.14 million dollars) from Friday to Sunday. With this, the tape accumulates a total of 8.76 billion yen (approx. 55.7 million dollars). The film stars Queen Ueda like Reze.
For its part, Jujutsu Kaisen: Executive he fell to second place in his second weekend. The compilation film sold 176,000 entries and added 258 million yen. Its total accumulated is 1.12 billion yen. Historical record for Kimetsu no Yaiba

The ranking also saw the debut of the 30th anniversary revival Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone in sixth position. Additionally, 4K restoration of Princess Mononoke it fell to eighth place, and the 4K remaster of Angel's Egg de Mamoru Oshii had a limited release in 10 theaters.
