ready! The official website for the anime adaptation of MF Ghost,
the acclaimed spiritual successor of Initial D, has confirmed the
exact date for his return to Japanese television. The third season its
broadcast will begin on January 4, 2026, marking the beginning of a
year full of speed for motorsport fans.
The
announcement came accompanied by a first promotional video and a key visual.
The story picks up the fierce MFG Round 3 final, "The Peninsula
Manazuru". The protagonist, Kanata Katagiri, is in a critical
situation after losing the use of second gear, being surpassed by its rivals.
However, the trailer previews a dramatic development where Kanata rekindles his
fighting spirit to seek revenge against the pilots of the "Kami 15"
group.
In
addition, the musical themes were confirmed. The opening theme, "TIMELESS
POWER feat. MOTSU", will be played by Yu Serizawa, while the
closing theme, "Yokan no Tochu", will be performed by Himika
Akaneya.
Collaborations
and context of the work
The franchise also confirmed its presence in it Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 and new tourism collaborations with the cities of Manazuru and Odawara. The anime is based on the manga Shuichi Shigeno, which ended its serialization in February 2025 with a total of 23 volumes and more than 7 million copies in circulation.
