The
ambition to unify China does not rest, and neither does the anime. Following
the airing of the 13th and final episode of Kingdom:
Season 6 this Sunday, it was officially announced that the
franchise will have a sequel. The news came accompanied by a
promotional announcement video and a new visual image that promises to maintain
the war intensity that characterizes the series.
The sixth
season, which adapts Yasuhisa Hara's acclaimed historical
action manga, began airing on October 5 and was simulcast
by Crunchyroll. The evolution of anime has been remarkable since
its inception:
- The first two seasons
(2012-2013) were produced by Studio Pierrot.
- From the third season (2020),
the production became a collaboration between Studio Pierrot and Studio
Signpost, raising the animation quality until the recent sixth
installment.
The
Giant of Manga
Kingdom's success is undeniable. Yasuhisa
Hara began serialization in Weekly Young Jump magazine
in January 2006. The work has reached a monumental milestone with 120
million copies in circulation accumulated.
Shueisha published volume 77 on October
17, and is already preparing to release volume 78 on January 19, 2026.
With so much original material still to be adapted, fans of Xin and Zheng can
rest assured that the strategic battles will continue for a long time to come.
