The
story of the witch who defied an empire
The plot
transports us to the thirteenth century, to the slave markets of Iran. There we
meet Sitara, a young woman who, after losing her mother and being
torn from her homeland, finds herself alone and without hope. However, her
destiny changes when she is taken in by a family of scholars who teach her the
power of "knowledge".
Meanwhile,
the unstoppable Mongol Empire under the command of Emperor Genghis Khan advances
conquering nation after nation. When that ambition comes to the city of Sitara,
her days of peace end and the legend of the witch who played with the fate of a
vast continent begins.
The
original Tomato Soup manga is published in Akita
Shoten's Souffle and Mystery Bonita magazines.
With such a powerful historical premise and a studio known for its unique art
style, this adaptation aims to be one of the jewels of 2026.
