The heartwarming journey of survival and friendship is not over yet. The official website for the anime adaptation of Saijaku Tamer wa Gomi Hiroi no Tabi wo Hajimemashita. (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) announced on Wednesday the production of a second season.
The first season, made up of 12 episodes and produced by Studio Massket, aired during the winter season of 2024. The series managed to capture hearts internationally thanks to its simulcast on Crunchyroll.
This announcement coincides with the release schedule of the original work. TO Books will publish volume 15 of the light novel (written by Honobonoru500 and illustrated by Nama) and volume 8 of the manga adaptation (by Tou Fukino) on December 15.
The story follows Ivy (born Femicia), a girl who is expelled from her home and village after it is discovered that she possesses the ability to tame monsters with "zero stars", an omen of bad luck in her society. Forced to survive by collecting garbage and hiding her identity, her destiny changes when she manages to tame Sora, a weak slime with whom she forges an unbreakable bond on her way to the royal capital.
