The romance between the 2D and 3D worlds comes to its ultimate conclusion. Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform published this Saturday the combined chapters 199 and 200 of the manga 2.5 Dimensional Seduction (2.5 Jigen no Lilysa). Along with the release, it was revealed that Yu Hashimoto's work will "really" end with the chapter "200+1" on December 20.
A time-skipping ending
Although it was originally announced that the series would end in chapter 200, this additional episode will serve as a special epilogue. The story of this final chapter will unfold two years after the events of the main plot, offering fans a glimpse into the future of Okumura, Lilysa, and the manga club.
Multimedia and video game success
The manga, which began in 2019 and has more than 1.7 million copies in circulation, has expanded its influence beyond paper:
- Anime: The first season premiered in July 2024 and production on a second season has already been confirmed.
- Video game: The smartphone game Angels on Stage! will shut down its servers for the English and Simplified Chinese versions on January 14, although the Japanese version will continue to live.
About the work
The story follows Okumura, a purist otaku who declares to have no interest in real girls, until he meets Lilysa, a passionate cosplayer who loves the same 2D character as him. The series explores the fine line between fiction and reality as they both share their passion for cosplay and modeling.
