Second season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes reveals premiere date

The illegal side of justice is ready to spring back into action. During the special event at Tokyo Comic Con, the production team of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (Boku no Hero Academia ILLEGALS) revealed the main promotional video for its second season. The announcement confirmed that the series will return to Japanese television on January 5, 2026.



Musical themes and new characters


The trailer offered a sneak peek of the action to come, showing protagonist Koichi sliding through the city and showdowns against new villains. In addition, the musical themes were presented: the opening theme will be "CATCH!!" performed by Surii, while the ending theme will be "Miss You" by the band shytaupe.


Voice cast


A key new addition to the cast was confirmed, as well as the return of professional heroes:


  • Kana Ueda (Rin Tohsaka in Fate/stay nightYumi Fukuzawa in Maria-sama ga Miteru) as Monika Kaniyashiki

  • Kazuyuki Okitsu (Jonathan Joestar in JoJo's Bizarre AdventureZantetsu Tsurugi in Blue Lock) as Fat Gum

 


Connections to the main series


The new key visual highlights not only the vigilantes, but also younger versions of well-known heroes like All MightBest Jeanist, and Edgeshot. However, what has caught the attention of fans the most is the appearance of Shota Aizawa (Eraserhead) and Hizashi Yamada (Present Mic) with their classmate, Oboro Shirakumo, anticipating that we will see the emotional arc of their school past.
