The icy apocalypse has an arrival date. The anime adaptation of the sci-fi manga Snowball Earth has confirmed its premiere for April 2026 through the Nippon TV network. The announcement was accompanied by a first promotional video that shows for the first time animated scenes, a key visual and the reveal of the main cast and the full staff.
The trailer features the shy Tetsuo and his robot companion Yukio facing a decisive space battle. However, after returning to Earth after a long cryogenic sleep (cold sleep), Tetsuo wakes up on a transformed planet: Earth is completely covered in snow and ice, and the galactic monsters he fought in space now roam the surface. Why did the Earth freeze? Tetsuo must find out.
