The master
of virtual survival games is back. Kadokawa he announced this
Tuesday that the light novel series Demons' Crest, written by Reki
Kawahara (creator of Sword Art Online and Accel
World), has received the green light for an anime adaptation for
television.
Although no
details were revealed about the cast, staff or release date, the news was
celebrated with a special illustration drawn by Yukiko Horiguchi,
the illustrator of the novels. Horiguchi is a legend in the industry for being
the character designer for Kyoto Animation classics such as K-ON!, Lucky
Star and Tamako Love Story.

Crest Synopsis
The story
places us in the year 2031. The release of the first real "full dive"
VRMMORPG, titled Current Magic- becomes a nightmare when he seals
an entire class of sixth graders in a game of life and death. The
protagonist, Yuuma11-year-old must survive in a world where his
companions transform into monsters. Their only hope lies in the devil Valac,
who has possessed her twin sister, while trying to save her missing friend,
Nagi.
About
the work
Reki Kawahara he launched the series in November 2022, and Kadokawa he will publish the fourth volume next December 10. The franchise also has an adaptation to webtoon (vertical scroll sleeve) illustrated by Tomoe on the HykeComic service.
