The wait to
learn about the history of the Great Saint will be a little longer. The
official website for the anime adaptation of A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei
Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu) announced this Friday
that the premiere of the series has been delayed from April to October 2026.
According
to the staff's statement, the date change was made with the aim of offering
more pleasant and better quality work for all fans of the franchise.
A Tale
of the Secret Saint anime details
The series
is directed by Tomoe Makino (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai)
at Felix Film studios, with Naoki Murata as
assistant director. The script supervision falls to Deko Akao,
while Satomi Kurita is in charge of character design. The
soundtrack will be composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, recognized for
his work on Re:Zero.
In the
musical section, the following songs were confirmed:
- Opening: "Flare of
Soul", performed by Kaya.
- Ending: "Stellar,"
performed by Utahime Dream All Stars.
About
the work
The
original story was created by Touya and debuted on the Shosetsuka
ni Naro website in January 2019. Earth Star Entertainment began
publishing in physical format with chibi illustrations in June
of the same year.
The work
has enjoyed great popularity in Japan, achieving second place in the novel
rankings of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guide in its 2024
and 2025 editions. In addition to the light novels, the franchise has a manga
adaptation illustrated by Mahito Aobe since the end of 2019.
