The stage is set
for the last encore. The official website for the Love Live! Nijigasaki
High School Idol Club announced Monday that the third and final
installment, titled Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dōkōkai
Kanketsu-hen Saishūshō, will be released in theaters next winter.
Along with the
announcement of the launch window, a new promotional visual was
revealed. Unlike the first two films, where the members traveled through
different regions of Japan, this conclusion will bring the story back home,
in Tokyo.
The road to
the end
This trilogy
serves as a direct sequel to the two TV seasons and the Next Sky OVA.
The film saga began in September 2024 with the first part,
where members such as Ayumu and Lanzhu traveled
to Okinawa. The second part recently premiered in Japan in November
2025, taking Karin, Setsuna, and other members to
the Kansai region (spanning Kobe, Osaka,
and Kyoto).
About the
plot
The story is set
after Isla's return to his native country. The club receives an invitation to
the "School Idol GPX," a contest where participants compete
individually through an app, rather than by schools. This format has tested the
bonds between friends, forcing them to face their feelings when competing with
each other. Now, with the return to Tokyo, the definitive
resolution of this emotional conflict is expected.
