The stage shines
again for the girls of the theater. During the Cardfight!! Vanguard
15th Anniversary: Bushiroad New Year Announcements 2026 held on
Monday, it was officially announced that an all-new animated sequel to
the Shojo☆Kageki Revue Starlight (Starlight Project) franchise is in
production.
The Kinema
Citrus studio, responsible for the previous installments, will be in
charge of this new project. Although the specific details of the plot are kept
under the curtain, the production presented the announcement with a cryptic and
evocative teaser phrase: "Someday, ___ will reach someone."
Ninth
Anniversary Celebration
In addition to the
anime, Bushiroad confirmed that a special exhibition will be
held earlier this summer to commemorate the ninth anniversary of
the franchise, which was born in April 2017 combining live musicals and
animation.

Starlight
The saga began as
a multimedia project of "dimension 2.5 musical". Its first 12-episode
television anime series premiered in July 2018, followed by a compilation film
in 2020 and a direct cinematic sequel, The Revue Starlight The Movie,
in June 2021. The franchise has also inspired smartphone games and multiple
manga, establishing itself as a benchmark in the idol and theater genre.
