The franchise seeks to redeem itself from its past mistakes with a top-notch production. During the Dragon Ball Genkidama Festival, the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime was officially announced, scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2026 on Fuji TV. This project is not a simple repetition, but an "Enhanced Edition" that totally reconstructs the beginning of the saga.

According to the information revealed by producer Akio Iyoku, this series reworks the original arc aired between 2015 and 2018. The project includes an extensive amount of new footage, scenes redrawn from scratch and a complete update in the visual and sound sections, using cutting-edge animation techniques to correct the controversial beginning of the original series.

The goal is to offer superior battle immersion and a more accurate adaptation of Akira Toriyama's vision. Iyoku mentioned that the creator wanted to see a version of the story more faithful to the initial drafts, where Beerus appeared as a much more terrifying and imposing God of Destruction.

Additionally, rumors from reliable sources like AnimeAjay suggest that this could be just the beginning, with Toei Animation planning a similar treatment for the "Golden Frieza" arc.

The announcement was attended by the legendary voices of the series, who expressed their excitement for this technical "reboot":

Koichi Yamadera (Voice of Beerus):

"Having a series titled with Beerus' name feels like a great reward as a performer."

Masako Nozawa (Voice of Son Goku):

"Is that so? I'm really surprised! [I just found out about the decision, but I encourage all fans to watch the show]."

About Dragon Ball Super

The original Dragon Ball Super series began airing in 2015, marking the franchise's return to television after 18 years. However, its first episodes were criticized for the quality of the animation. With Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the franchise seeks to standardize visual quality to align it with recent hits such as the Super Hero movie and the Dragon Ball anime DAIMA (aired between 2024 and 2025).

This project joins the also confirmed Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, ensuring a 2026 full of content for Saiyans.
