About The Ramparts of Ice
The original work
is a manga created by Kōcha Agasawa (author of the hit You
and I Are Polar Opposites). It was originally serialized as a webtoon on
the LINE Manga app between 2020 and 2022, before
publisher Shueisha published its print version, the final
volume of which arrived in February 2025.
The story centers
on Koyuki Hikawa, a distant student who builds an emotional wall
between herself and others to avoid getting hurt. Her isolation is challenged
when Minato Amamiya begins to get closer to her, initiating a
story of personal growth alongside other classmates. The work was so popular
that it reached #2 in AnimeJapan's "Most Anticipated Anime" poll in
2023 and #15 in the 2024 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guide.
