A viral
confusion on social networks has ended in a public apology. Recently,
information spread about an alleged fake anime adaptation of
Maruhadaka's Ore no Hitomi (Ore no Hitomi de Maruhadaka Fukachi na
Mirai to Misukasu Vision), claiming that the project was greenlit. However,
the game's publisher, HULOTTE, officially denied such claims,
clarifying that there is no decision on the matter.
After the
denial, illustrator and character designer Akane Ikegami, who
originated the rumor, issued a public apology on February 2 through X,
admitting that the announcement was made without authorization and based solely
on personal wishes.

The
controversy began on January 31, when Ikegami posted an illustration and a
message assuring that the game had been approved for an anime adaptation. He
even created an account in X that pretended to be the official one of the
project. HULOTTE reacted on the same day, emphasizing that there was no factual
basis for such claims and that any ongoing projects would be "completely
unauthorized."
The illustrator's
explanation
In his
statement titled "Notice Regarding the Circumstances of the Anime
Announcement," Ikegami explained the motives behind his "careless
action":
- He admitted that the
announcement was based on his personal desire to see the
play adapted.
- She acknowledged that she
misinterpreted her rights as an original illustrator, mistakenly believing
that she could use the intellectual property freely without consulting the
rights holders, HULOTTE and its parent company, CUFFS
Co., Ltd.
- She confirmed that she herself
operated the fake anime account and that her claims about being
commissioned by a production committee were a lie.
Ikegami
took full responsibility for the incident, clearing the companies involved of
blame, and vowed to remove the related posts and accounts after discussing it
with the affected parties.
