The story follows Kunon, a boy who was born blind and whose greatest goal is to become the first person to use water magic to create new eyes. With unwavering determination, after only five months of study, he manages to surpass his teacher. His magical mastery not only allows him to "feel" colors, but to create useful objects and conjure complex shapes. His wit soon caught the attention of the court, earning him a position as a disciple of the kingdom's most powerful magician.

The light novels, written by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Laruha, began web publication on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site in August 2021, where they dominated the overall rankings in 2022. The adaptation to the physical format is edited by Kadokawa.
