A team of
top-notch adventurers hits TV this summer. The official website for the anime
adaptation of The World's Strongest Rearguard (Sekai Saikyo no
Koei: Meikyukoku no Shinjin Tansakusha) revealed on Tuesday that the series
will premiere in July 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the
first teaser visual, as well as the full list of the main cast and production
team.
The Maho
Film studio
will be in charge of the animation, bringing together a voice cast full of
stars from the industry to bring the characters of this fantasy and dungeon
crawler story to life.

The series
has been directed by Yuuji Yanase (Isekai Mokushiroku
Mynoghra), with the series composed by Deko Akao (Ragna
Crimson). The main character design is the work of Eriko Yanagimoto.

About
the work
The
original story, written by Towa (formerly credited as Akatsuki),
began publication on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in April
2017. Kadokawa publishes the light novels with illustrations
by Huuka Kazabana, having released the ninth volume in September
2025.
The plot
follows a former office worker who is reincarnated in a world of labyrinths and
decides to take on the role of "rearguard", a position of support
that he uses to lead his group with unique and strategic skills.
