The immortal wizard and his faithful canine companion are ready for their screen debut. On the 5th, it was officially announced that the light novel series The Principle of A Philosopher By Eternal Fool "Asley": The Great Adventure of Pochi (Yuukyuu no Gusha Asley no, Kenja no Susume) will receive an anime adaptation of The Principle of a Philosopher by Eternal Fool Asley. The news came with the opening of an official account in X for the project.


Along with the confirmation, a visual teaser was revealed highlighting the close bond between protagonist Asley and his relative Pochi, setting the tone for this timeless fantasy.

Although the animation studio and release date have not yet been specified, the announcement included a special message from the original author, Hifumi, who expressed his deep excitement and gratitude towards the readers who have waited for this moment.

About the work


The story centers on Asley, a man who obtains an immortal body after accidentally creating a divine elixir known as "Eternal Drops". With unlimited time on his hands, he spends 5,000 years mastering countless forms of magic and sorcery, becoming an extraordinary wizard capable of using lost arts.


Together with his trusted partner, the 800-year-old dog Pochi, Asley embarks on a journey to broaden his horizons. What begins as a quiet life changes drastically after a simple act of helping others.


The novel began publication on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site in January 2015, being published in physical form by Earth Star Entertainment with illustrations by Kurihito Mutou. The manga adaptation, made by Fuu Araki, has been published on the Comic Earth Star platform since 2017.
