Proposing to your own executioner is a survival tactic that is as desperate as it is effective. It has been officially announced that the anime adaptation of the Firefly Wedding manga will begin airing on Japanese television during the month of October on Fuji TV.

The update was accompanied by the release of a first promotional trailer and a second visual image. About the work

The plot follows Satoko Kirigaya, a young woman belonging to a noble family who suffers from an incurable disease, leaving her little time to live. His family hopes that he will marry soon to ensure the honor of his lineage. However, his fate takes a drastic turn when a skilled assassin named Shinpei Goto is sent to end his life. Cornered and in a last attempt to survive, Satoko proposes marriage instead of accepting death.

To his surprise, the killer accepts the offer, but adopts the notion of marriage in a twistedly literal way, including a promise to stay together "until death do us part." What begins as a cold survival tactic quickly mutates into a complex and emotional relationship. The original work, written and illustrated by mangaka Oreko Tachibana, began serialization in the Manga ONE application of the Shogakukan publishing house in January 2023, publishing its eleventh compilation volume on February 19.
