About
Snowball Earth
The plot is
set in the year 2025, when the Earth is attacked by giant creatures from outer
space. As a countermeasure, humanity builds Yukio, a huge robot piloted
by Tetsuo Yabusame. During the decisive battle against the invading
swarm, the mecha is destroyed and Tetsuo miraculously escapes in a survival
pod, where he remains in cryogenic sleep for eight years. Upon waking up and
returning to the surface, he discovers that the entire planet has frozen under
a dense layer of snow and ice, leaving the fate of the rest of humanity
unknown.
The
original sci-fi manga is written and illustrated by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu.
The work began serialization in the pages of Monthly Spirits magazine,
belonging to the Shogakukan publishing house, in early 2021.
The story continues to develop, having published its tenth compilation volume
in December of last year.
