The chaotic
world of Hole opens its doors once again in print. It has been officially
confirmed that the Dorohedoro manga will have a new one-shot,
which will be published on April 11 in the May issue of Shogakukan's Monthly
Shonen Sunday magazine.
The main
objective of the publication of this special chapter is to commemorate the
start of the broadcasts of the second season of the anime adaptation. This
sequel will begin its television broadcast in Japan on April 1 and
will be part of Crunchyroll's catalog for the West during the
spring season.
Dorohedoro
Details
The first
anime adaptation consisted of 12 episodes and debuted in Japan in January 2020,
reaching the rest of the world months later through the Netflix platform.
The production at that time was in charge of the MAPPA studio.
About
the franchise
The
original work of science fiction and dark fantasy, written and illustrated by
mangaka Q Hayashida, began its journey in the industry during the
year 2000 within the pages of Monthly Ikki magazine.
Throughout its publication, the series was transferred to Hibana magazine
and finally to Monthly Shonen Sunday, where it concluded its main
story in September 2018.
The twenty-third
and final compilation volume of the work went on sale in November 2018. It
should be noted that this is not the first time that the author returns to this
universe, since in 2020 she published another special one-shot that
served as an accompaniment to the premiere of the first season of the anime.
