The isekai Magical Explorer will arrive on Japanese television in autumn

Reincarnating inside an erotic video game sounds like the ideal scenario for any fan, until you discover that you have taken the place of unfortunate comic relief. It has been officially announced through the opening of a new website that the anime adaptation of the light novels Magical Explorer will begin airing on Japanese television during the fall season.


The update was accompanied by the release of the first promotional trailer and a new visual image of the project. Through this trailer, the production committee introduced the technical team in charge of the animation and revealed the main voice actor who will play this peculiar secondary character in his fight for survival.



The animation production takes place in the renowned facilities of the White Fox studio. The general direction of the project falls to Kazuki Ohashi, while Satoko Sekine assumes responsibility for the composition of the series and the writing of the scripts. The character designs are adapted to animation by Ryosuke Kimiya, accompanied by a soundtrack composed by veteran Kenichiro Suehiro.


About the work


The plot follows an ordinary individual who suddenly wakes up in the universe of the game he adores so much. However, his fate takes an ironic turn when he realizes that it is not the main hero endowed with special abilities and surrounded by beautiful heroines, but Kosuke Takioto, the secondary character designed exclusively to suffer misfortunes and generate comedy. Armed only with his deep and thorough knowledge of the game's mechanics, Kosuke decides to forge his own path, determined to overcome his limitations and become the strongest in a world infested with monsters, magic, and deadly dangers.


The original work, written by Iris and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki, began serialization as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro portal in February 2018. Subsequently, the Kadokawa publishing house began publishing the printed volumes in November 2019, scheduling the release of its thirteenth volume for April 1. The success of the franchise also prompted a manga adaptation illustrated by Yukari Higa, which has been published uninterruptedly since August 2020.
