Reincarnating
in a fantasy world is usually accompanied by divine powers, but being reborn as
the weakest creature in the ecosystem and with a life expectancy of just a week
sounds like a real nightmare. The production committee behind the hit
manga So What's Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin? (known
in Japan as Tensei Goblin Dakedo Shitsumon Aru?) officially
confirmed its anime adaptation. To celebrate the news, they revealed the first
promotional poster for the series and announced that its premiere on television
is scheduled for this October.

The
nascent production house BAKKKA will be in charge of bringing
this tactical adventure to the small screen. In the director's chair is Ryuta
Kawahara (who has experience directing episodes in dramatic gems such
as 86 and Orange). The vital task of adapting and
supervising the scripts falls to Yuichiro Momose, while Hiroyuki
Saita takes on the responsibility of translating the character designs
into animation. For its part, the sound section will be supported by Hiroto
Morishita in the audio direction and Takenoko Boy in
the musical composition under the INCS Toenter label.
What is
the story about?
The plot
introduces us to Akira Yagami, a dedicated Japanese office worker who enjoys
the absolute trust and respect of his subordinates. After tragically losing his
life, he awakens in a world of magic reincarnated as a goblin,
considered the most useless and weakest race of all. To make matters worse,
these creatures are born with a brutal biological curse: they naturally die at
seven days old.
However,
our protagonist receives a special buff from the system called
"Human 80 years", which grants him the same longevity of his past
life. Thanks to this unique advantage, Akira manages to survive the limit of
his race and discovers a terrifying mechanic: he begins to inherit the
abilities of all the goblins of his tribe who die before him. As he accumulates
overwhelming power over the years, various superior races such as demons, elves
and even imposing dragons begin to gather around him, transforming a simple
goblin into a true king of monsters.
