About
the franchise
The story
follows Ranma Saotome, a young martial arts prodigy who, after a
training accident in the legendary cursed ponds of China, undergoes a peculiar
transformation: every time he is sprayed with cold water, his body changes to
that of a girl, returning to his male form only on contact with hot water.
Added to this curse is an arranged marriage to Akane Tendo, unleashing a spiral
of combat, rivalries and romantic comedy that has lasted for decades.
The
original work, created by legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi, is
one of the historical pillars of the industry. This animated modernization
project began its broadcast cycle in October 2024 with its first season,
followed by a second installment in October 2025. With the announcement of this
third part, the franchise consolidates its annual release format for the fall
season.
