The mystery
hidden behind the monotony of daily life will take shape under the care of one
of the most renowned studios in the medium. Production company ASMIK
Ace has officially announced the production of Mebius Dust,
a new original anime for television that will begin airing in Japan during
the fall season.
The update
was accompanied by the release of the first promotional image and a short
introductory trailer. Through these visual advances, the production committee
confirmed that the project will be developed entirely at the Doga Kobo studio
facilities, revealing at the same time the main technical team that will lead
this narrative.
Mebius
Dust Details
As this is
a first promotional approach, details about the cast of voice actors who will
play the leading trio are being kept in reserve. However, the direction and
script section has the experience of recognized industry veterans.
About
the work
The premise
of this quirky slice-of-life follows Araki, Stella,
and Olga, three high school students who reside in a cozy downtown
neighborhood. Their routine goes on in an ordinary way between video game
sessions, visits to traditional public toilets and the quiet way back home.
However, behind this façade of everyday life, the narrative suggests the
existence of secrets and unusual elements that will alter the tranquility of
young people.
Unlike
conventional adaptations of manga or light novels, this original work was born
as the winning story of the "Children/Games" category of the national
contest Project Anima in its 2019 edition. Originally written
by Hajime Shinagawa, this initiative was promoted in 2017 by
several Japanese companies to discover and encourage ideas from the general
public, making this installment the third animated project to formally
materialize from this contest.
