Can you
imagine a group of ex-yakuza trading firearms for crayons and baby bottles?
Well, that's exactly the premise brought to us by the animated adaptation
of Kindergarten Wars (Yochien Senso), the brutal and
hilarious action comedy that has finally confirmed its premiere on Japanese
television for the spring 2027 season. The announcement came
with a trailer that lets us see how these retired criminals try to deal with
childish tantrums while dodging the bullets of their dark past.

Details
Although
the production committee is still keeping the name of the main animation studio
a secret, they assure that the technical team behind the project has quite a
bit of experience handling works that mix intense action with absurd comedy.
The new promotional video does an excellent job of showing the brutal contrast
of the series: one moment the characters are serving lunch peacefully, and the
next they are in the middle of a deadly shooting to defend the perimeter of the
kindergarten, trying to make the parents not suspect anything of the chaos.
About Kindergarten Wars
The
original story, born from the pen and strokes of mangaka Yuichi,
began publication in 2022 and quickly made its way onto Japanese shelves thanks
to its ridiculous but effective premise. The plot puts us in the shoes of a
peculiar group of people who have decided to leave behind their lives in the
underworld of organized crime to seek redemption by working as the
administrative and teaching staff of a seemingly normal nursery.
The problem
is that the past never forgives, and these tough ex-mobsters will have to learn
to balance their new life singing nursery rhymes with the need to break a
couple of bones from time to time, facing old rivals, international hitmen and
criminal syndicates that will not hesitate to attack the facility. All this in
order to protect the smiles of the little ones in her care.
