Bunny waifus return: Bunny Garden 2 is Japan's best-selling game

The charm of the girls of the gentlemen's retirement club has once again conquered Japanese players. Developer qureate officially released Bunny Garden 2 on April 16, 2026 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, and it didn't take long for the romance-adventure sequel to climb to the top of the charts on both platforms.

In its debut, the game reached the coveted first place in the Steam bestseller ranking in Japan, remaining in a solid second position the next day, only behind Pragmata's release. At the same time, the version for Nintendo's hybrid console was crowned the number one game in the Japanese My Nintendo Store, demonstrating the enormous expectation that surrounded this installment.

New Romances, Mini-Games, and ASMR Features

The core of Bunny Garden 2 maintains the successful formula of the original game: players spend time in an exclusive bar building relationships with the charismatic workers through conversations and activities. However, this sequel injects freshness by introducing three new love interests, greatly expanding ASMR's features, and including completely unreleased mini-games.

Among the most prominent minigames is the "Blindfolded Catch," which uses spatial audio and ASMR effects to simulate the immersive feeling of being chased and provoked by girls. Also included is a "forbidden" game in which players feed and are fed suggestively, as well as a daring take on the traditional Japanese card game karuta with somewhat spicy rules.

Success on Switch despite restrictions

A detail that has caught the attention of the gamer community is that the Nintendo Switch version has some differences compared to its PC counterpart. To comply with the platform's guidelines, the studio had to apply some censorship, limiting some suggestive poses, facial expressions, and camera controls. Even with these adjustments, fans proved to be more than eager to enjoy the experience on the handheld console, taking it to the top of sales without hesitation.

The runaway success of Bunny Garden 2 confirms that the mix of dating simulation, light, character-centric narratives, and a relaxing atmosphere is still a winning formula for qureate. While players discover all the secrets of this new installment, the studio already has its sights set on the development of a mysterious spinoff announced at the beginning of the year, assuring that we will have bunnies for a while.
