If you
thought the chaos, blood, and dark humor in "The Hole" were over, get
ready for more madness. After the recent end of the broadcast of the second
installment, the production committee of Dorohedoro has just
brightened up the week by confirming that the third season is now officially in
production. The bizarre and violent universe created by Q Hayashida refuses
to die, and fans who have been hooked on the work for years can breathe easy
knowing that the story in animated format will continue its course.
To
celebrate this tremendous news, the director of the series himself, Yuichiro
Hayashi, released a special illustration starring the eccentric devil Haru,
who appears singing at the top of her lungs with overflowing emotion. In
addition, to make the wait not hurt so much, the franchise released an animated
music video with the opening theme of the second season, "Zettai MUST
Danmen", performed by the talented group (K)NoW_NAME. This
frenetic montage perfectly mixes the best scenes of past seasons, reminding us
why the visual style of this adaptation is such an addictive delight.
The story
immerses us in a gloomy and post-apocalyptic world divided into two dimensions:
"El Hoyo", an urban landfill where ordinary humans survive in misery,
and the world of sorcerers, beings who use the inhabitants of El Hoyo as guinea
pigs to practice their dark and lethal magics. In the midst of this chaos we meet
Caiman, an amnesiac man who was cursed with a huge reptilian head. Armed with
his lethal knives and a strange immunity to magic, Caiman teams up with his
strong and loyal friend Nikaido to hunt sorcerers mercilessly, desperately
searching for the culprit of his mutation to regain his true face and memories
of his past.
