Gotoubun no Hanayome on alert: Fans warned about fake account that steals identities

If you're someone who keeps desperately looking for any updates on your favorite quintuplets, be very careful where you browse. The massive popularity of Gotoubun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets) has caused some malicious users to try to take advantage of the community's loyalty. Recently, the production committee had to issue an urgent warning to protect its followers from a rather elaborate hoax on social networks that was already confusing thousands.

An overly convincing deception

Through their true channels, the team behind the anime released an official statement clarifying a critical situation. It turns out that someone created a fake profile on Instagram posing as the franchise's corporate account, painstakingly copying logos, names and using images that made it look extremely legitimate. The problem escalated to such a degree that the creators had to be blunt with their message: there is currently no official account for the series on Instagram.

The community reacted with great gratitude to this clarification. Several fans confessed on the forums that they were about to fall into the trap or that they were even already following the account, since these fake profiles often try to replicate even the verification badges. The real danger of these accounts is that they are dedicated to spreading rumors, unconfirmed information, or, in the worst case, promoting pirated merchandise through deceptive links.

The Price of Having a Giant Franchise

Unfortunately, this is one of the biggest problems facing successful series in the Japanese industry today. While there are hundreds of profiles created by true lovers of the work who only seek to share illustrations and support the protagonists, identity thieves operate with the sole intention of profiting from misinformation. The production team strongly requested that any news, animated project or merchandise advertisement be consulted solely and exclusively through their website or their already established media.
